Symptoms of a meltdown changing with age?
So as i've gotten older (just pasted my 30'th birthday) my meltdowns have gotten more frequent. Where i used to have one maybe one a year. I've had two major ones in the last six months. The worst one today I actually lost the ability to speak, beyond mono syllables, for a good hour. This has never happened before when I've had meltdowns and as a kid/teen i never had any meltdowns. I also recently started therapy to try and help with some of this. It seems to have stripped away some of my ability to suppress some of this.
So thoughts? advice? anyone else experienced this as they've aged?
Also HI! First time posting in well years.
I've been having less meltdowns with age but that's because I internalize things until I can't handle it and I end up having a major meltdown and breaking things so... don't do that. Maybe the reason you're having more meltdowns is because you're learning not to bottle things up. What are your triggers for meltdowns? You could try to avoid them or find ways to minimize them.
Hmm true. I hadn't thought about that. My biggest triggers are light and sound. We were moving a bunch of metal racking today at work. Guess i'll have to add ear plugs to my rescue kit.
Heh and yeah i have to try really hard not to throw and break things too. Mainly when i get angry.
