I've never thought of this before but it does make it easier at least for me and that's when looking people in the eye you blur your vision. Anyone tried it?

Yep! Or take my glasses off. I can't see much without them.

I usually just don't look at them in the face at all. If I need to, I look at their mouth or nose.

Sometimes my stare will start drifting, and the next thing I know, I'll be staring at their shirt or their pants.

Mouth and nose for me. And, my therapist working on the Asperger's social issues has confirmed that it looks perfectly normal. And, that it does not need to be constant.

Accidentally, yes. It wasn't until I got contacts in my teenage years that I realized I couldn't look at peoples' eyes. Then it was a while after that before I was told this was a "problem".

For me, I even used to be uncomfortable with pictures of people looking at the camera. I don't know if this is common.

These days I've gained some skill at it, but extended sessions are still tough.
