When I take the Aspie Quiz, or more official ones like RAADS and AQ, i always turn out slightly over the autism line. I keep wanting to take these tests over and over again! Do I think the results will change? I keep thinking of reasons why it's at that place (female aspie, mental illness dx, high iq)

I am going to see a psychatrist that years ago did not feel I had autism. New therapist though. I just want to know.

Anyone else habitually take the texts over and over again?

Any reason why you keep taking them over and over again? Is it an OCD thing?

I quit taking autism tests because they are always the same results, borderline autism to autism and there was one that said I had no autism because I didn't have the stereotypes and this was about the DSM IV and plus I had a language delay. They just got boring.

It's just that I've had plenty of therapists and laypeople think I'm aspie, but the doctors either dont, or say yes but do not add it to my diagnosis.

I've taken those those multiple times, but the results are always the same. I think it's just one of our repetitive behaviors.

When I was diagnosed, my interest in taking these tests over and over was one of the criteria that had the doc label me with aspergers.

Here's a hint for your appointment: Make a list of behaviors that concern you, and the impact they have on your life. Write them down. Some people even suggest organizing them by criteria on the DSM V (the book shrinks use to diagnose you. You can google DSM V and autism and print out your own list of criteria.) Hand this list to the doctor at the begining of your session so that he/she can use it to focus the conversation.

People who use this method have a much higher satisfaction level with their evaluation than people who walk in without preparation. The problem is, we have a communication disability. We have been taught to appear as normal as possible. And this is in direct contradiction to letting the doctor see what's wrong. The people who thought they saw ASD in you probably know you in situations where you are more relaxed and let down the act.
