Can anyone recommend me a list of music I can listen that might calm me down. I read that listen to music will lower my stress among other things.

I listen to other kinds of music but that's more for enjoyment and it's not calming for when I would need it.

I have to listen to classical music(Bach, Beethoven) at work, in order to focus.

Well, if you're religious, then certain religious music can help you calm down (some of them last hours, very calming)
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0XUKNSqS3C8) Although this is christian music, any religion will have it.

Perhaps water sounds? Like a stream, or a bamboo water fountain (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJaZc4E8Y4U)

I know these somewhat aren't classed as "music" but their still quite calming
I'm not too sure what your ideal music is, though, so I'll give some that I listen to that calms me down
For me, I find that these songs are good at calming: (however I do often listen to certain parts over and over because of the sound)
*Bastille - Good Grief
*Fifth Harmony - That's My Girl
*Dua Lipa - Blow Your Mind
*Desire - Years And Years
*Paloma Faith - Upside Down
*Foxes - Body Talk
*Marlon Roudette - When The Beat Drops Out
*David Guetta - Lovers on The Sun
*Sigma - Cry
*Martin Garrix - Animals
*Alexis Jordan - Happiness

I find the music of nature superior to any man-made music. aside from that, I am calmed when I step into a big empty building and hear the brown rushing noise of the air handlers in action, it is palpable and enveloping like a heavy aural blanket, and puts me in a better mood.

Brown? Are you sound-colour synaesthetic Auntblabby? I can see letters, numbers and words as coloured, but not sound.

To respond to the OP, I like piano solos best, there are a lot of good ones on youtube. "The River Flows in You" is one I particularly like, as is "River in Judea".

no, much smarter minds than mine, of an audio engineering bent, devised that terminology. also known as Brown noise or red noise, it's the kind of signal noise produced by Brownian motion, hence its alternative name of random walk noise. The term "Brown noise" comes not from the color, but after Robert Brown, the discoverer of Brownian motion. The term "red noise" comes from the "white noise"/"white light" analogy; [brown]red noise is strong in longer wavelengths/lower frequencies, similar to the red end of the visible spectrum.

I would suggest light/soft rock or acoustic stuff. That's what I listen to when i want something calming.

On my worst days I put on Nahko and Medicine for the People. It never fails to help center me.

A. Find someone that plays ukulele.

B. Learn to play ukulele.

C. Find someone that plays harmonica - especially for me in a minor key.

D. Find what works for you.

I listen to 'Sounds from Nature CD's' of things like waves on the shore, rainfall and birdsong. This relaxes me the most I think. I have also tried brown noise and find that very effective too. It's like being wrapped in a lovely warm comfortable sound - insulation for the senses!

I have classical music playing in the background at night, when I'm sleeping.

I'd recommend Couer de Pirate. She's an artist out of Quebec & her voice is incredibly calming. I think for me, part of the reason why it's so calming, is a majority of her songs are in French so I don't understand what she's saying. It's just pretty and relaxing
