I have Aspergers and have been suffering from long-term Anxiety & Depression for over 5 years now.
I am currently taking the following medications for around 4-6 weeks;

75mg x 4 p/d Quetiapine
40mg x 2 p/d Propranolol
40mg x 1 p/d Escitalopram
15mg x 1 p/d Mirtazipine
7.5mgx 1 p/d Zopiclone

Does anyone else have experience of these medications at a similar quantity etc? If so, what effects would you consider had these had?

I'm not entirely sure what to make of them, let alone the chemical effects of the brain. However, I can say that they are making some difference to how anxious I am. My moods tend to be fairly low still.

Were they all started in the last 4-6 weeks? Seems odd to start so many at once.

Anyway, I've taken Quetiapine (100mg p/d) for a few years now. Some constipation, can't sleep if I forget to take it, makes it difficult to wake up but otherwise no side effects (confirmed by blood tests and ECG). Initially started for labile mood and anxiety. Wouldn't really expect to see much at my dose though as it's a very low dose. Some difference to low mood, but it was only prescribed to make me able to cope with therapy (which did help) rather than to solve the issue.

I've also recently started taking Methylphenidate for ADHD. I take nothing for ASD specifically as the area don't prescribe for it.

Quetiapine (Seroquel) - a psychotropic used to treat schizophrenia, major depression and bipolar disorder.
Propanolol (Inderal) - used for angina, hypertension
Escitalopram (Lexapro) - SSRI antidepressant, also used for treating anxiety in adults
Mirtazapine (Remeron) - antidepressant (people misspell this drug as Mirtazipine a lot). Also used as an appetite stimulant in the elderly as well as a sleep aid.
Zopiclone (Zoplicon) - insomnia

That sure is a lot of stuff for sleeping. Your level of depression much be pretty high, too. Hopefully, with all these pills in your system, you'll still have the strength to get on with your day and be relatively productive. I'd imagine you probably have hand tremors and lip smacking, right?

I used to take Buspirone for anxiety. The only problem was that it often made me feel light-headed and slightly dizzy and out of it. But it did work in taking the edge off anxiety problems I was experiencing at the time. I have been off of it for several years now.

I took Propranolol in high school. It helped me a lot then, but I built up a tolerance to it, and then switched to Xanax, and then later Ativan, which I still take.
I may or may not have been on Seroquel too in the past. It sounds familiar.

i've taken escitalopram for many years, but only up to 20mg/day (I'm surprised at the 40mg/day dosage...). And it is surprising that you were just started on all 5 of these at once? Propranolol can also be used to help with anxiety (although it's far more often used for blood pressure, etc.). It looks like you're on a wide variety of medicines to help with depression and anxiety, and perhaps with some sleep disturbance as well. All of these medicines are widely used, although I'm not sure zopiclone is available here in the US (I'm not familiar with it). Anyway, hope you continue to feel better and are tolerating the treatments well!

I have bad experiences with Anti-Depresents. None, of them worked, like I wanted them to.
