I know quite a few autistics in my life, some of whom I still talk to. I have mixed feelings about other autistics in general. What is your experience, besides people on this site?

I tend to avert from those who fixate on things I dislike. One guy know has a hentai fetish and I think that explains itself.
The subject of autistic problems nearly never comes up, even under "lower functioning" people. I do find eye contact and social cues significantly easier to read.
Romantic relationship: I had a crush on an autistic guy (we are still good friends), but though we still hugged or cuddled or ranted about life, he never saw me as his boyfriend. :(

I don't have any autistic friends or other acquaintances.

I almost wish I did.

They never seemed interested in talking to me so I never made friends with any of them. I did date one guy with Asperger's in high school but we had a very bad falling out as he did some things in the relationship that I can't forgive.

I honestly don’t feel I relate with other autistics… Now I only met others in a support group, I just don’t care to talk about myself and at the last one did not feel safe when one of members had a meltdown. He kept yelling crap about wanting to kill and I thought he was going to fight a tree outside.

I am happily married to a scientist woman. We have two sons, one of whom is diagnosed with Asperger's like me.
