Long story short I saw a psychiatrist who specialises in ASDs and I think I did an okay job providing the appropriate context this time around. I get to see her again so will have plenty of opportunity to and she wants to use RAADS-R (I suppose as a guide?) but, from what she said, it looks like my diagnosis might be correct after all.

I'm also going back on medication so hopefully I can stop having intrusive thoughts and overthinking things so much!

That being said, anyone got any tips (other than Mindfulness) as to mental exercises I could use for the latter because it's very disruptive for me.

Thank you!

Glad you were able to confirm this.

Nothing wrong with mindfulness, but if I may pass along a suggestion my psychologist (also an ASD specialist), use guided meditations rather than pure silence. I find having directions to follow helps me stay focused.

There a site called headspace.com which has 10 free guided meditations (the rest you have to pay a subscription for), but the first 10 are only 10 minutes long and you can see how you get on with the facilitator's style. He explains things very well and with lots of visuals.
