I avoid arguments because most people who argue just do it because they like to, not because they have something interesting to say. And it's damn impossible to convince them of anything, they will always make some ridiculous claim and ask you to prove it's not so, or, worse yet, turn it into a personal attack. The world is full of as*holes, some found their natural place in the anonymity of their internet connection. The hell with them, got my own life to live to waste time on them.

I know, I hate people like this because I weigh a lot on the strength of someones argument and NO ONE knows how to argue right. HOW did this person "become" a "scientist" if they cannot look at things objectively? Turning it into personal attacks that are FALSE because they don't know anything about me? I don't get this and it happens all the time.

I tend to stir controversy everywhere I go.
I'm sure this is a talent of some sort. :?

You're giving this person too much of your time and energy. Let it go. That person just sounds like a bully who's overcompensating for his/her own lack of a real life by projecting that failure onto others wherever he/she can get away for it. Walking away with dignity is the best move, I say.

I tried to persuade some good argument and met dead ends. It got boring and I think my IQ dropped a couple points so I walked away. At first I was aggravated as she attacked my competence with no backing information which I HATE, I couldn't give a damn if she didn't like my face but DO NOT insult my damn intelligence. :?

How annoying, its annoying when people think their rank and authority is enough to validate their word without good reason or argument.

Ah well, the bit of stir it brought wore off quickly as I saw how ridicules she really was.

Expletive deleted. Think I'll go look at some other threads now.

Added edit: I was feeling a little annoyed & a little amused when I wrote the above; being kind of a smartass. Plus I just like saying 'expletive deleted' sometimes. I wasn't seriously angry about anything and wanted to clarify.

Sorry if I sound stupid, but what is exactly the point of this topic?

I mean I understand there was a difference of opinion and point ofview and maybe even perpectives between 'Me' and 'Them' but what was exactly the point? I mean what was the argument about?

It felt to me after reading it like 2 kids playing in a sand box going: My dad is better than your cause he has a truck. No! my dad is better than yours cause he plays golf. No! my dad is better than yours cause he makes great hot dogs and so on...

What was the core of the argument?

No really, I read this whole topic so please, allow me the pleasure to at least know what was the point you tried to make by posting it!
