I realize it has been concluded that mercury from immunization vaccines are not a related cause of autisim but could it not still be questionable? Correct me if I am wrong, but how do they know what a child's DNA pattern is before receiving an immunization shot? Could the mercury possibly trigger and alter certain prone individuals? Or possibly the immunization itself (without mercury) could alter the structure of the DNA? Just a thought without any scientific support; autisim was around long before immunizations.
A neighbor has a 13 year old grandson, Jason who is autistic. She said he was developing normally until he had his first immunizations shots at 18 months old. Today he has limited ability to verbally communicate but cannot read. Interesting, because at 18 months he would begin to start talking but of course not reading. After the shots he quit talking altogether and after a period of time he started talking once again. Coincidence possibly, but she witnessed this as it happened.

It's not only that they've shown that mercury doesn't cause the changes that lead to autism. It's also that they eliminated the mercury in immunizations about five years ago, and there hasn't been a decrease in the incidence of autism since. So either way, whether someone believes the mercury directly causes autism or indirectly triggers it, both have been disproven. I think people believe it's the immunizations just because they are given around the time that kids tend to begin to display autistic signs. It's just circumstantial evidence.

Ok I can't answer your question as to wether they can cause autism , I can however say for sure they can't be the only cause . My son is autistic and showed signs as a small baby prior to being the age at which children are vaccinated , he was born at the time the issue was in the news a lot so I chose not to vaccinate him , hes now a lot better than he was , he could have been a lot worse if he had been vaccinated , there is really no way to know . I was never vaccinated as a baby because I had health issues and Drs told my parents not to just to be on the safe side. I have aspergers syndrome . So that is at least two cases of vaccinations not being the cause of autism.

you are most probably right...it just happens to be around that age period. it would be interesting to know though what a baby's DNA structure is at birth

Their DNA structure wouldn't be changed anyway. Environmental causes don't change the DNA, they just change its expression. For instance, a toxin might interfere with the production of a certain protein, but it's not going to change their DNA or anything.

As I understand it, autistic children appear to develop normally until a certain age, and then they appear to regress. Remember, babies grow and change very quickly over a short period of time; a lot of things happen before children are even five years old. A lot of big changes happen at once- both internally and environmentally. I think it's coincidental that children appear to "become" autistic around the time of vaccination.

I'm so sick of this. AS has run in both sides of my family well before there were mercury-based vaccinations in use. The symptoms haven't gotten more severe nor has the frequency of AS in my family lines since those vaccinations has been around. My family can't be the only one like that either. There appears to be a genetic disposition to AS, but I seriously doubt mercury-based vaccinations has anything to do with triggering it.

The vaccination theory was just a misguided grasp made by gulliable doctors and greedy researchers under pressure from desperate parents who wanted to know why their kids couldn't be "normal." The theory was ill-formed and ill informed, and it needs to be buried for good.

Recent research with mirror neurons is a hell of lot more creditable and promising than this nonsense. I mean, that's actually scientific research, and not snake oil salesmanship.

No one knows what triggers autism. There are probably other triggers along with the genetic proclivities, but, if there are, no one knows what they are.

Studies have shown that it is highly unlikely that it has anything to do with vaccinations. In scientific method, highly unlikely is all that you ever get. There really are no absolutes available in real world occurrences.

Is autism caused by eating gluten? Probably not. Can its negative effects be lessened in some individuals by not eating gluten? Some people find it so.

No harm in trying.
