I applied to a job and im obsessing over it because i think its perfect for me. But based on past experiences, i get the jobs i apply to and forget about. The ones i obsess over i often get an interview and then i dont get it and i morn.

Obsessing over a job is having it on your mind constantly and trying to find out as much information as possible. You imagine your new life at the new location and everything.

One thing you might try is contacting the interviewer after you get a rejection letter, and asking what it was about your interview that resulted in your not getting hired. They won't usually tell you the truth, but sometimes they will. Sometimes you are told things like "you seemed too nervous in the interview and we wondered why." Other times they will say things like "the person hired was more experienced."

It never even occurred to me you could contact the interviewer until I heard from someone who did that.
