I know this isn't the point of NYE, but I'm sure some people can relate to this - I like the celebration of the new year because simply, it means the Christmas season is over! I usually enjoy Christmas and I think it does people a lot of good, but it does feel like a huge change to the usual weekly routine and every year it brings me stress and anxiety (as it does a lot of people I'm sure). So as nice as it is that it's a holidaying season a lot of us enjoy, it's good to get back to normality I find :D

We've been doing so many events for New Years that it's been quite terrible for the last few days. Hopefully, it will die down and get back to normal soon. :D

I just did nothing at all for Christmas or New year. It's a repeat of the last decade's Christmases and New years, and they've all been by happy choice. I'm not anti Christmas and I spoil my offspring and close people accordingly (I love you, online shopping). I'd just rather be doing the same things I do the rest of the time, cheers..

I like Christmas. It makes me happy and I enjoy giving gifts to my immediate family. But I never go to parties or events on Christmas or new years. I just like Christmas trees and lights and listen to Three Tenors Christmas music.

Unfortunately, my family makes me do these things whether I want to or not. I had a massive shutdown over both yesterday and today - we had three different gatherings at our house in the last 24hr. 8O My parents like to have guests, and don't really care if it's too much for me.

Right there with you. :) I'm so glad it's over. I want things back to usual, and more daylight please...

I agree about more daylight. It will feel much safer when I don't have to drive to an event in the darkness. Driving home from one is a given, but I will feel much more comfortable with some daylight.
