I am feeling extreme stress because school starts tomorrow.
I need to prepare myself and get ready.
I just feel so stressed, but usually the stress is worst just before i go to school, but once i actually am there, it feels ok.

I am sure we all know that feeling. Every one gets nervous and anxious before first day back at [insert place] after the holidays.

I get anxious about university starting back up, so I make sure that I spend plenty of time in the first few weeks creating and revising a large (A3 sized) weekly timetable that I can stick on my bedroom wall. I include classes, study or revision time slots, and plenty of breaks and free time. I also leave room at the bottom of each day's column where I can put a sticky note with non-everyday tasks like grocery shopping, bills or appointments for that day.

I find this is helps channel my anxiety into something productive and relying on my schedule makes life much easier so I can focus my energy on achieving good grades.

Trust me, I'm on staff at a school and I'm nervous about tomorrow. Nervous also because it's going to be a very long day and that is what mentally wears me out the fastest.

What exactly about going to school is stressful for you? Stress can be a good or a bad thing, the key is to manage it well so it doesn't affect you in a negative way.

I am the opposite; I find home being more stressful because of the constant intrusion of my parents. I would rather be at school, but when I am stressed, I stay with my turtles and my tics and echolalia act up more. :arrow:
