Has anyone else ever felt like they understand or have experienced in the past something that's not possible? Like as in you've been alive before. Or that your not real and things don't feel real or that time is changing like going faster, slower or stopping?
I'm not so much feeling good cos it's like I'm being watched by something but I dunno what.
Do you suppose it's possible I can have my mind altered by something outside of myself? I know that sounds dumb but seems possible if you feel it and we do have good tech now.
Is this kind of thing common to aspies on occasion because I don't always feel weird.

Welcome back Starfox. Good to see you again.

About the topic:

Gosh. I dunno. For me time slows down while I am in the chair at the dentist's office, and speeds up when I am fooling around on the Internet. But I dont get all this other stuff you're talking about. No one is really "influencing" you from outside via "technology" if thats what you're sensing. you're starting to sound like a tin hat wearing person (if you dont mind me saying so). Not an autism thing. More of a paranoia thing.

Well not really by tech but energy. I don't know why I feel bad. The energy that allows everything to exist.

I dont believe it's possible , although I find it difficult to believe anything unless I've witnessed it.

Im not a Dr but it sounds like you might be unwell, get yourself checked out for peace of mind :D

Hey guys. I feel better now. I sometimes feel like that randomly and then it goes away but I hadn't felt like that in ages. Actually I've seen a Dr before and they said I'm okay.

I've had those feelings before. I think they're existential crises. They're a consequence of high intelligence or something. I guess when an active mind is left to its own devices it starts overanalyzing everything. I usually keep myself distracted as often as I can to avoid that feeling.

Actually i think i shoukd perhaps try to learn more about physics and such i just wish it wasnt such a difficult subject because i really think things like that are related to physics in some way, as in when your feelings of perception and such changes its related to the energy which holds atoms together. Thats on a super basic level. I'm studying science atm and we must use the scientific method when we have ideas about things and we must try to disprove ideas with experiments. Tbh I really suck and have to learn more and understand more.

You could also look at philosophy. We talked about those kinds of things in philosophy class.

I don't think philosophy would be of use. Maybe I'm wrong though

It's a problem that I can't fix myself and that it's not something outside of myself that's an issue so there is no real issue. Also the dr says I'm okay. I don't like to look in the mirror or anything atm because it is giving me the creeps and I look different. I feel like I'm in someone else's body even though that's not right. I don't feel like I'm a real person or anything and everything looks fake.

A few years back I watched a TTC (The Teaching Company) lecture series called "Einstein's Relativity and the Quantum Revolution with lecturer Richard Wolfson PhD (Here's a link to the course on TTC's site--but it's out there for free too if you know how to find those things, not that I'm condoning illegal downloading or anything like that  ) that I found really interesting and informative, and I liked that the prof is genuinely excited about the material and that makes a big difference for me; I just find I learn more effectively from teachers who have a real love and enthusiasm for what they teach. It's for non-scientists so features as little math as possible, it's basically just the theory and a description of the ideas that led to Einstein discovering relativity and the impact it has had on what we know about the universe, and then some basics of quantum mechanics and their impact. I've always loved the sciences but mostly studied biology and chemistry when I was in school and wanted to explore physics as much as is possible with me not being much of a mathematician. I found that series to be a great window into the basics, and an interesting study on how theories in the physical sciences are developed.

I can relate to this. I feel the same way. I also try to avoid mirrors because it freaks me out. Sometimes I worry about what I'll see or everything, including myself, looks fake. I would actually talk to a therapist about it. If you don't have one, you can see a school counselor.

It could be a number of things going on. For instance, it could be the result of trauma. There could be hypervigilance at work here combined with the fact that sometimes trauma feels like it takes away a part of you. When I look in the mirror, I see an empty shell instead of a living and breathing woman, and it's unsettling.

This sounds like derealization which is the feeling that one's surroundings aren't real. Also, depersonalization can make one feel that they have changed or that the world has become vague, dreamlike, less real or lacking in significance.

Both derealization and depersonalization can be symptoms of an anxiety disorder like PTSD.
