What would parents/carers want to know about ASD?

Hello I have been schelled to talk to the parents/carers suopport group in Hawke's Bay New Zealand. I am a Aspie myself. I was wondering what parent/carers would want to know about ASD from someone who is an Aspie, whould they want to know about what i went through or something like that. I am also proposing the things that I thing Hawke's Bay could improve on. Any ideas please. doesn't matter where you guys live just want to have some ideas.

My mother asked a few questions-how did I find out about Asperger's and what made me look into it? ummm... is it "curable"? What are the symptoms-how do they know? Are there medications to help with it? ....and of course more personal based experience type stuff.

as a parent I like to know what it is that you don't like and what is hard for you, but in turn what do you want from me to help you. Like for example, I have learned from my son that he doesn't like to be suddenly hugged and/or kissed, but if I ask him ahead of time if can do so then he is usually okay with it and if he says no, then that is okay too. Stuff like that.
