Stigma

It has become horrible where I live. Anybody else dealing with this?

I live in NYC. Yes, autism can be a stigma even here.

I get better treatment. People won't sit next to me a lot of times. I can roam the halls for my pedometer. People won't ask me for passes.

I don't really disclose my autism to very many people, but there are some people who seem to really dislike me and it probably has something to do with some behaviors related to autism. I recently told a couple of people on a dating site that I have autism though because I was curious to how they would respond. They both seemed pretty accepting after I told them.

Yes, I think it would be a stigma. I have worked so hard to get to where I am now. A formal diagnosis could only hurt me at this stage.
