i saw Alice in wonderland, i listened White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane (i looove this group), and i took Amanita Muscaria
(free and legal ) and i saw things i can't describe.
i saw "The big lebowski" and i began to "take it easy" :) (that is very good, good bye anxiety, 2 days without you!!)
i read Sherlock Holmes and i see things more carefully.
i used to repeat other's people words when i was little, very little.
did you use to do that? imitate things i mean, by films, songs, other people...?

I think I still do , I get really sucked in watching tv & films , I honestly feel like sometimes I watch things differently to others.

Sometimes I've noticed myself unintentionally imitating someone else. Whether it's copying their laugh, using a phrase they do, or some other mannerism. It's usually kind of embarrassing when I catch it, and it tends not to last long after that.

I think everyone does this to some degree though, particularly couples or those who spend a lot of time around each other. As for movies; who doesn't walk out of a Kung Fu flick for a while thinking "Just try me..."? hehe.

At one point, I used to tell people that I had more costumes in my closet than normal clothes ...
sadly, I've grown out of some of them.
I was into "cosplay" years and years before the term was invented,
and have portrayed many characters with whom I self-identify over the years.
The one most resembling me I would say is Q from Star Trek.

Imitating and mimicking is a very classic autistic trait. Usually the only time I speak is when I'm mimicking something I heard someone or some character say.

I do this accidentally. I also use outgoing characters as masks to help me behave 'normally'. I draw energy and inspiration from knowing that I have had an experience (such as watching a particular film) in common with other people.

I do this sort of thing alot.

One pretty much non-stop example is that instead of swearing a bunch with a pile of f-bombs (like how someone might say "#%&@ing machine!" when something isnt working), I'll instead say "bloody stupid thing!" And other terms that are completely inherited from reading the Discworld books about a thousand times. That one has hit the point where it's pretty much permanent.

Also... the cosplay. I've been doing that for years. Generally, it works out pretty well, people seem to think it looks good. But I suspect for alot of people it really is purely a hobby, just something done for fun for a couple of days, and there's not a deeper meaning to it. In my case though... yeah, it's the whole autistic imitation thing. If I get really attached to a character, chances are I want to cosplay as them. And while it sounds weird, I'm a heck of alot more comfortable and generally in a better mood when in costume rather than in normal (and boring) clothes. I'll also take on personality traits and such (not just when cosplaying). The more I can identify with a character, the more I'll do this. The fact that I get really obsessive over some characters just intensifies it.

Currently, the character I'm attached to is Chara from Undertale. This one:

Hardly the most positive character to choose, but... I dont make the rules when it comes to this sort of thing. It's rather involuntary as to which characters I get attached to in this sort of way. I can say though that this one is possibly the most fitting of them all so far and the one that's easiest to identify with. Anyone that knows the character might spot that fact as a bit of a problem.

And yeah, like others I get attached to, there's definitely some obsession there. I do indeed have a cosplay, too. Which, frankly, works well, even I think it looks good. Best part: to the untrained observer, it looks like a normal outfit. But I get the same feeling in it that I do when wearing any of my favorite costumes (which of course is increased at a con). So I can use this at any time.

My friends probably think I'm freaking strange for doing that sort of thing, but... I cant help it, yeah? I certainly dont choose these traits for myself, they are what they are. Which I suppose is the case for all of us.
