So everyone I have decided to leave Wrong Planet. I find a can't continue posting here, the tone of the posts is very negative and pessimistic from what I notice and I can't let it get to me. For that reason I am done.

Maybe you could check back in a few years and see if it has gotten any better.

I've been having a problem with this place, for awhile----one of the reasons being such low-quality debates, and other stuff, so I can understand.

I do understand the feeling and I hope some people will take this as a wake up call. I have avoided posting on some topics since I don't want to get involved in the brow beating. I hope you come back sooner rather than later.

Unfortunately there is no rule against sneering, and other petty harrassments, which have increased a lot over the past six months. I think back to how it used to be when I joined a few years back - civil and complex discussions with little evidence of nasty sniping and snide putdowns which are now daily occurrences. Some members seem far more interested in trying to "score points" than engage in respectful discussion, and they tend to poison the well for others.

I wouldn't expect positivity in a place where most people just can't live among the vast majority of mankind.

This forum is for all those people who don't fit in and are misunderstood by society, so you'd think they'd be able to get along better here, though, in general.

Sounds like your expectations have been disappointed. It is a particularly negative time on the board right now.

I haven't seen the negativity the OP is describing, but I stay out of the political forums.
