Within a US context, it depends on the state. Sometimes, in some states, you could get a restraining order easier than other states.

What state/country are you in--so someone could research how to obtain a restraining order. And under what conditions.

I filed the paperwork but the people at the courthouse didn't tell me that I had to send paperwork to the person I wanted the restraining order against, so the judge didn't do anything when I went to court.

Evidently, in Kansas, pretty darn easy because my neighbor just served my other neighbor with one for harrassment and stalking - both in our building. How that is going to be enforced I have no idea. AND he is involving the HOA Board. I've been friends with one more than the other, so now I'm going to be avoiding the one like the plague. I think he did it because the other one is the President of the HOA Board and he is trying to get away with crap again. I would like to just get out of this place and get my own damn house. This condo crap is for the birds.
