As in , someone will tell you not to mention something in front of someone as it's a sore subject.

For me it's as if I've forgotten it was a secret or the secret plays on my mind so much it just escapes from my lips and I can't help it.

The same thing happens to me. I've told secrets that a bygone friend told me, to my mum years ago. Secrets that she tell me about her health. I was between the ages 11 and 14 at the time.

Do you think it's something you grew out of ?

No, I've never had any problems keeping secrets. The last and only time I revealed a secret was when I was 4 (it was about a birthday present).
I have never understood why this seems to be an issue for so many people, all they need do is keep quiet.

They do say that Aspergers is a Spectrum thing. Another person I meet may have Aspergers and is a sally loudmouth while me I can keep secrets. I guess in general, I can keep secrets from family and some people. Honestly though, I've learned over the years of social isolation to shut the f**k up when someone says "keep a secret".

I'm very good at keeping secrets, even if I'm not told it's a secret, I can still work out if it's meant to be something best kept quiet. I am not a "grasser" either.

No. That's all there is to say, really. I can still remember something I was told when I was about 6 that I've still not told anyone about. I don't believe I've ever not kept a secret.

If I mentally tag something as a secret, it stays a secret. Although it's likely I'll forget the secret info within a short period of time anyways.

I'm very secretive, so it's second nature. However I cannot compute outright lies. If someone asks me directly, I cannot say the opposite of what I know is truth. All I can do in said situations is to say I refuse to talk about that topic at all.

I keep secrets. What gets me is when other people start telling me about it because the original person asking for it to be kept secret has blabbed it all over the place and I look like I have no idea what is going on. To be fair I do usually have no idea what is going socially!

Funny you say grasser , I usually relate that word to the police. I wouldn't grass a friend up to the police unless it was a heinous crime. But if I was questioned by the police about a crime I know the answers would be written all over my face , I feel guilt just talking to a policeman and I haven't done anything.

I can keep a secret if I am aware that something is a secret. It's when I am not told that something is secret, but I am supposed to magically know that it is a secret that I reveal the secret.

I used to have a big problem understanding that people I couldn't tell things didn't know already. Thus, I wouldn't realise that I would be giving away the secret, and would tell them. I have got better at it, now.

Guess I'm alone on this then , well at least the reasons why anyway.
