Confusing..there are two Wrong Planets...Wrongplanet.org..can't that not be sorted out?

I also know of the other WrongPlanet. That site has resources for parents and families. Our site is where all us cool people hang out.

Just went to wrongplanet.org , there is no Trojan or virus there , it's not even a website , the domain name is still up for sale.

I got Trojan warnings and my computer froze up. I had to restore my computer.
I don't use antivirus. maybe that's why.

.com, .net and .org can make a big difference in what you open up. I remember with one site I used to visit the difference meant opening a very not safe for work website.

Like whitehouse .gov is the official site, .org was a satirical site, and .com is not safe for work site.

I think some browsers or search engines catalog "problem sites" and report them in that way if you try to visit.

I don't know. Just a bunch of pop-ups about being infected with a Trojan when I logged onto the site and then my computer locked up. All I could do was shut the computer down and do a system restore.
The pop-ups were probably part of the infection.

Probably wasn't an actual Trojan if it advertised the fact , sounds like adware trying to spook you into buying a fake antivirus program. Although to be on the safe side I would download a free adware remover and run a scan for piece of mind - Malwarebytes has free version which is very effective , which you can uninstall afterwards if you have an aversion to such things.

Because it is practically virus proof if you keep updating your installations of programs. But it is specially designed for artists...
