Seeking help for adults in Houston
Hi WP!
I have only recently been diagnosed with asd and it has been somewhat of a relief to have that confirmation. I found out about asd about a year ago and finally decided to get a formal diagnosis in the fall. I had a hard time finding a doctor in Houston that took my insurance and had openings within a reasonable timeframe but i did it. The problem i have now is that im finding that this doctor lacks experience with adults and has little more to offer than a sympathetic ear, which i really do appreciate but it's not enough. Among other things I would really like to do a full assessment so that I can have a better understanding of what other people may see when they interact with me.
If anyone has recommendations for doctors or any other resources please let me know.
FYI. I have contacted the CLASS clinic at UT Health but the earliest appointment is 5 months away which tells me that they do not make helping people a priority. Which is disappointing.
