Sometimes I am very disturbed and confused when someone turns out to do something differently than I had expected them to. It's almost like finding out that they are not who I thought they were. I know, or I am aware that people have a mind of their own, but sometimes it stuns me to the point of just not knowing what to do. Is this considered to be seeing others as an extension of oneself? Is this related to theory of mind or ASD? I'm just wondering if this happens to anyone else because it's very unsettling to me.

I could see it being more related to the sudden "change of schedule" once you've become committed to expecting a certain outcome. Expecting people to act a certain way is standing on shaky ground.

Theory of mind can manifest in a few ways. Here is a theory of mind test that provides an example.

"False Belief" Theory of Mind Test

Hi Exuvian, thanks for your reply. I do get really stressed out by changes of schedule too. It could ruin my mood for days.
