Doesn't bother me. What annoys me is assuming we all are annoyed by the same things.

think how many great conversations you'd miss out on

 you ain't missing out on anything with me

Like everyone else, we use our interests to find a sense of purpose

That's news to me.

Quote:
It just gives us a sense of identity

I don't get all this "identity" stuff

Quote:
We're more than capable of being in relationships and expressing heartfelt emotions

:lmao: Just no

In fact, we're pretty confused by the word "normal", anyway. What does it actually mean?

Depends on the context.

Quote:
We're pretty open and don't mind talking about the condition

Only online.

Too many broad generalisations in this.

^They should also add, 'and every autistic person is different, some of us wont relate to this at all'...

I can certainly relate to #2, I usually do want people to interact with me if I am at sort of a social place its just extremely difficult for me to initiate it.

As for #s 4 & 5 I think I certainly can experience empathy, and I do feel sympathetic in situations where it makes sense, mainly it is just hard to express it or at least convincingly express it or know exactly what to do with it.

I don't mind calling my interests "obsessions." I'm a heck of a lot more engaged in them and knowledgeable about them than NTs are about theirs.

More 19 secrets that we want you to know, to make our life easier.

1 - kinda anoy me, because most people i know, associate that being a autist is being rain man... that is the only movie that most people know. theres a lot of movies with other types of autists, like Adam(2009) who shows a little better how its a independent autist.
2- yeah people should try to aproach us, and go away if they dont like us. but give us a chance pls, some of us are too shy to talk, but we want to talk
3- what?
4- i have too much empathy and i often put other people above me. i just dont want to hurt any people feelings.
5- true
6- no
7-what
8- that anoys me so much
9- ?
10- yup, but since my focus is low, i had to hear some jokes again to get it, cause i dont listen the first time
11- i use sarcasm but often people when people use in me, i have problems to get it. i did a exam and the exam said that also.
12- people make this association because of rain man and his memory with the phone book.
13- ??
14- yes
15- thats a rude behavior, i agree i did that sometimes.
16- what
17- yeah, but most people dont stand our behavior. so some of we are single because of that.
18- strange that i do the oposite. i had to remember my parents that i have the condition because they ignore it and anoy me with loud noise. only my father understand better it. My mother speaks in a normal tone, but she has the habit of talking very loud suddenly until she almost shouts. So I have to constantly remind her of my problem. im capable of many things, but loud noises/voices is not one of then.
19- im not. since many people are hostile againt the condition, and bully can start from that

It was all going well until I got to 16. Anyone who assumes 16-19 apply to me has just purchased an express ticket to my s**tlist.

17. We're more than capable of being in relationships and expressing heartfelt emotions.

Not just capable, but more than capable.

It was about what I expected from a BuzzFeed article with a click bait title, it generalizes way too much.
