I have been accepted into a group study on teenagers (all very close to my age, there are 6 of us who are accepted) and i am a bit nervous on what we will do in the group, how we will get along, if it will help me, etc.
It is run by two occupational therapists.
I hope i will learn some skills of dealing with anxiety and coping when things go another way than planned.

I am a bit nervous since i tend to be a bit shy in the beginning when i meet new people.

I am also nervous since they will give their professional opinion on me and what kind of therapy i need (if i need any) and i am not sure whether they will give me an answer i will like.

I do not know what to expect

The first time the group is together is on Tuesday.

I'll bet that most of your group is feeling the same way, and the therapists can remember when they did. Fear of the unknown is normal, but manageable. One time I was extra nervous before a meeting, and realized that everyone would be pretty tense. With that setup in mind, I got the best laugh I've ever gotten.
