I have many different autism traits that makes me special, and wondering if anyone else here has had experiences with them like me. Some examples are me flapping my arms and bouncing up on the spot when I am excited, along with tending to repeat words, mostly slowly and sometimes in sentences. I also tend to make some weird squeaky noises when I am excited and also have a tendency to sniff many things, like books and my food. I also like to change my voice often, mostly being pretty humorous for my entertainment, and finally I make really funny faces when I am in the mood.

These make me who I am, and they happen very often and sometimes I have no ideas I'm even doing them, which makes it all the more worth valuable to me. I do tend to keep these under control most of the time, especially when I am out and about. Since these are common features of me, along with my interests and activities I am curious to see if others have traits like these and how they cope with these, interesting to me :D

I howl like a Wolfman in the subways.

I also like to feel lots of things, and sometimes even taste things like bricks.

I also jump up and down when I'm excited.

I also bang my head against walls.

My son smells everything.

I like to change my voice too though I never thought of it as an autistic trait. Now that I have kids it's more acceptable to do this when playing with them. But I like to repeat others and try to make my voice sound just like theirs. I like accents and cartoon voices and I like to sing.

I have a few "voices"

I have my "Wolfman Voice."

And I have a couple of "characters" with high-pitch voices. One of them really likes to go bowling. Another likes to ride horses on the New York Thruway.

I definitely do most of these things, although restricted to people I know really well. (I used to do it to everyone and anyone...) Mostly the voices and faces. To my pleasure, my rescued starling has taken my childish voice. Everyone who knows both me and him, comment on how perfect he has mimicked my voice. *Sigh*

Here he is for reference (although he knows many more words now)

Couldn't resist an opportunity to show off my bird-child. The only child I will ever raise :P - He was only 8 months old and less in the videos I had posted. He's almost 2 now! He's impossible to get good videos of though... If he sees the camera, he immediately starts posing. I am convinced he has figured out that I am stealing his image. If I stop taking pictures and look at the ones I have taken, he immediately runs around the other side and wants to watch.

I can be very goofy with voices. I guess I like that about myself, because my default voice is so monotone and part of an overall "flat affect," but I can be animated and people love to hear me read aloud using voices and expression.

I also smell everything, which drives my wife crazy. I was wondering if others did that.

That's interesting, considering that I can also change my voice to be pretty funny or very deep, or maybe a different accent or something. I usually do this when I am in the mood, along with making some funny faces. Actually, I do all of these often, and I even did some of these today without even noticing at first, wowzers :)
