According to the diagnostic criteria, there are four symptoms in the "repetitive behaviours" category, one of which is sensory sensitivity, and you only have to have two of those. So yes, you can still be autistic.

IMO, "sensory overload" refers to problems with ANY of the 5 senses (taste, sight, touch, smell, and hearing)----so, IMO, you DO experience "sensory problems", because of your sensitivity to sunlight (sight).

Yes you can be autistic without severe/ obvious sensory issues. It seems rare that people report no sensory issues whatsoever but they aren't a necessary requirement for diagnosis (they weren't even included until the DSM-5 update) and not everyone experiences sensory meltdowns/ overload.

You can be sensitive and without sensory overload. Maybe you have good threshold to begin with, or desensitized. (Not tolerance, or coping mechanism/technique)
You can be hyposensitive and bothers you. (If the case is low threshold)

I had been a sensory seeker in my childhood, and been a sensory avoidant at teen years.
Now I'm (still and always) have sensory sensitivity without good filters, but no sensory overload.

But just because I no longer have sensory overload, that doesn't mean I'm no longer sensitive, nor had gain a filter... :| I just gained enough threshold or desensitized enough, that sensitivity doesn't bother.
