Hello everyone! I don't know how to feel about the situation and i need help. I know you won't consider me as an attention seeker or a weirdo who's trying to excuse her odd behaviours. and because of that i feel comfortable enough to speak my mind about this matter.
Today i went to my psychiatrist talked about everything that bothers me and he said it sounds like Aspergers. He said he'll write report for me to be able to get some special medications. He talked to my mom about this and informed her on Aspergers. Anyway the problem is
He didn't apply any tests. Is it still valid? I asked this to another forum and they said they went through really long tests to get diagnosis. I've been diagnosed with major depression before because ididn't mention any other problems but i told how depressed i felt. it was the same he wrote a some kind of report and that's it.
As far as i know we don't have autism centers or doctors who are autism spectrum disorder specialists. Even tho i find someone who is specialist it sure will cost me a lot.In brief, I only can go to a psychiatrist.
Because we were so poor and couldn't have any other concern besides finding food for the day my parents couldn't focus on my unusual behaviour as a child.
my dad's sister has autism but because she is not functioning she got the chance to get diagnosed as a child. but I'm sure it was done by a regular psychiatrist.
I don't know guys. What's your suggestions on this? And please excuse me if i couldn't express myself clearly, been offensive or sounded stupid. I'm sorry
And thank you so much in advance.

Yes, there are several rating scales that a professional would administer when diagnosing Autism. However, if a psychiatrist was willing to document his findings in a report then it would count as an official diagnosis.
