Do you "suffer" from AS?

When I catch a cold or a flu I suffer from it, but I didn't catch AS, I was born with it and will die with it. Suffering is then a choice I make under the curcumstances. I don't see it as suffering, since the actual experience of it to me implies it is pleasurable to some degree. The extent to which I suffer is determined by the amount of energy I plan to expend.

I don't really "suffer" from AS anymore. I enjoy it now. I used to suffer from it because I didn't know how to harness it. I had to work harder than everyone for half the credit, but that is a mark of character, so rare in the NT world really.

Do you "suffer" AS or enjoy it?

There are aspects which make me feel like
it is suffering. Little things, which if I could
change them would make me much happier.
On the other hand, there are some major
lines of though which are so abnormal, and
I wouldn't give up, no matter what.

Suffering because I can't find a job at the moment... besides from that I'm still 50/50.. still learning how to enjoy it. I know what you mean by using the twice the energy and getting half as far.

exactly this is it. although the live with AS may be more difficult, at last it's our choice to suffer or enjoy...

I only suffer from those moments where I really want to just say something to someone I don't know very well in person, but, having AS, I can't really do that. I can only really talk to my friends.

Oh why oh why can't my online self be my real self. If it was that way AS would be a complete benefit. Perhaps.

I don't suffer from AS at all. I suffer from living in a world full of NTs.

I once read a description by a person with AS in which she said she was 'disabled by society'. I think that is pretty accurate to describe my experience.

I don't 'suffer' at all with AS, but I do 'suffer' from discrimination in society, lack of understanding, and also a total unwillingness by public services and organisations (such as transport, statutory services etc.) to make 'reasonable adjustments' (to which all people with disabilities are entitled under UK law) and to even acknowledge the needs of those with AS.

I also suffer from the ignorance (and bad attitude) of some members of the medical profession.

But no, I don't suffer with AS.

No. Brought about by other people. The only way I suffer from AS is when I open the curtains during the day and the sunlight hurts my eyes. Other than that, I suffer from society, not myself. That would be like saying I suffer from being gay. I don't; I suffer from homophobia.

I don't suffer from AS. I suffer with the sensory problems a lot which I suppose could be linked to that. What I really suffer from is other people MISUNDERSTANDING ME AND MY MEANING!! !

I don't suffer from AS. I suffer from the narrow line of society that the mainstream population seems to enjoy toeing.

Wow, and if you actually came out from behind the walls and the curtians and worked and went grocery shopping, etc you could REALLY suffer from those mean and horrible NTs!
