possessiveness as anxiety? (hospital mention)

does anyone else get abnormally upset when someone else touches their possessions without warning or permission? the clearest example I have is when I was in the hospital and my personal book accidentally got put back on the shelf with the communal books. I got far more panicked about it than anyone else expected, even though everyone else was also in the hospital, and mostly for anxiety-related reasons, haha. I was deeply upset by it. but that's the kind of thing that upsets me easily regardless of setting, if something isn't where I left it and no one said anything I get upset.

this may be a product of my upbringing, where "my" things and "my" space weren't so much treated as mine most of the time. but does anyone else have a strong reaction to that sort of thing?

I get upset when people touch my things, especially my car. My son is like that too.

I get upset as well when others touch or move something belonging to me as far back as I can remember.

I get upset even when I have visitors and they dare to move themselves across the room

Yes. It was much worse when I was a kid. Now my 7 year old is like this. Goes ape s**t if his sister so much as nudges his arrangement of toys. He has them all organized he says.

it's interesting to see that it's been "passed along". I hope they can maintain some kind of peace.
