How do we get people to know about AS

Hold them hostage, tie them to a chair, gag them and force them to listen to us.
Or alternatively, we could try something else. I can't think of anything right now, but I'm working on it.

I like that idea. I should have done that to a member at my clubhouse.

I don't think it would change anything if everyone knew about AS. People will still be dicks.

What will it change if they know about AS? Do you want them to understand our social differances? It doesn't matter WHY we're the way we are, that doesn't matter to them. They'll continue on with hating our personality types, regardless of the cause.

It's easy, we just get someone famous to "come out " as a closed aspie. How about Lenard Nemoy?

Ah, yes, the celebrity endorsement, then we have the privilege of explaining to anyone that holds up that celebrity as an example of what we can do "if we could only apply ourselves."

Over time I think more and more people will start being out in the open about their AS, especially since more and more people are being diagnosed. People will understand it better when they know someone in their own family or a close friend who has it.

I'm not sure its terribly important that "everybody know". I mean we've all heard of it and we'll talk to friends and families but lets be frank, for some average "nt" person working and taking care of their kids, it's not high on their list, nor should it be.

I think i am extremely open about it because of the fact of my family members having AS. It is not taboo. I tell people about it, sometimes probably too much about it.
Guess like anything else, interested parties will listen, others will not.
i don't listen to what i am not interested in.

I tell all my friends and associates. They know me as competent and honest. I think I am quietly educating people around me.
