Do you think I could be on the autistic spectrum?
I'm 17 and I'm getting tested for Autism... I'm waiting for my results now.
I have social problems which is the biggest reason for suspecting that I have it, and I've had it for as long as I could remember. I have problems with the volume of my voice where it's so low people can't hear me, I've had this problem for as long as I could remember also. I just talk and it comes out that volume sometimes, it's not intentional. I don't have sensory issues however... I don't think...I think I have repetitive actions such as rocking, rubbing the soft skin of my knuckles (been doing this for as long as I can remember), writing lists
I'm immature and I don't act like other 17 year olds... I don't feel comfortable with going places without my mother, people have to do social activities for me such as ordering for me at a restaurant, I get so nervous if I do it myself? I was diagnosed with social anxiety but idk... Maybe that's all I have? But I was always viewed as the oddball, the loner, as shy and quiet even with family. My classmates treated me as if I had a disability, like a child younger than them (I didn't talk much and my voice was always so low) I never kept friends, it's hard to make them and keep them.
Sometimes it feels like my younger sisters are the older ones.
It's very hard for me to make eye contact, and if you're talking to me you're probably gonna find me looking at something else totally different.
I'm bad at conversations, It's like I never know what to say.. I stumble upon my words and it's just difficult
I have trouble with explaining things
I also have trouble with answering some questions like how do you feel about such and such situation, my answer is often I don't know
Sometimes I flap my hands
Idk, Idk what's wrong with me, I just want an explanation for why I act the way I act..

Welcome to wrong planet.
You have a lot of traits suggestive of autism. As far as sensory sensitivities you can have them and not realize it because you think it is normal because you have been like that your whole life.
Your answer is coming soon. There is a cliche "The waiting is the hardest part". So true, especially with autism assesments it seems. Most of us have found the getting assessed and waiting for an answer excruciating. Most of us have thoughts like "Oh I'm just shy", "Oh, it is just social anxiety", "I am just lazy and fooling myself and everybody into thinking I am autistic". But autism or not it is a real thing that is impairing your life.
Let us know when you get your results, and if you have questions about the assesment process feel free to ask.
