I've made this thread a sticky and moved it to the General Autism Discussion thread. (A "shadow topic" will remain in the Parents Discussion.) I will not be able to attend, but I would like to encourage everyone west of the Mississippi, especially young people, to start making plans to attend now. Those workshops can't hurt and they could be a big help.

I'll be in Idaho this summer. I wonder if that is within driving distance of Arizona. If it is, I will try to make plans to go too.

I'm not going to the one in Phoenix. There's a Autism Conference on May 5th in Flagstaff, Arizona that I will attend. It averages 65 degs in Flagstaff in May. July in Phoenix averages 125 degs plus the Phoenix chapter tends to fixate more on low spectrum only whereas the Northern AZ chapter recognizes Aspergers, HFA & PDD along with the usual low spectrum.

Thanks Ticker.. I'll look into the one on May 5. Sounds like it might be a better fit.

Are you sure there isn't? Have you checked with the Austrailian Autism Society? Every state in the US seems to have a conference and Arizona is having two in one summer.

Here in Australia we have state based Autism organizations like Autism Victoria, but they are based in the capital cities. When I went through their website I saw an advert for an biannual conference being held on the gold coast in March, which is being hosted by Autism Queensland.

I'm in contact sort of with Autism Victoria, more through their social group which I attend occasionally their activities. They are based in Melbourne, I live in Bendigo which is 160km away.

I've heard about this as, I've heard of many other Conferences,Workshops,Seminars etc that occur throughout the year in various places.Personally, I'd like to attend one but, since I take care of my grandmother, I'd have to find such even within close proximity for, I live in the territorial region of Florida.Oh, thanks for bringing this up as, I'm now aware that there many means of learning about Autism in big way of sorts. :)
