Yeah, I do seem to get hungrier. If I can get focused on the eating then sometimes I can sort of zone out and it doesn't bug me. The hardest times for me when going into a crowded restaurant are the interactions with the employees, and having to walk through crowded rows of patrons to be seated. Realy loud places (typically places that serve alcohol) are the worst for me. Nicer places that have low lighting and low noise with lots of space around each table effect me the least and I can sometimes get pretty comfortable.
Something I like to do when I have to eat out is order something off the appetizers menu as an entree, or an entree that requires some planning like fajitas, and then I can get wrapped up in the organizing of what goes with which sauce and things like that. This helps me to cope in realy loud crowded places though I'm sure I look strange to anyone paying attention to me.
