I am interested in finding an after school program for my son where I can also be there.
My son is 12 and has moderate mental retardation. He is uncooperative and non-compliant. He likes to be with other children, but he exhibits inappropriate social skills, such as pulling toys away from them without asking, pushing his way when he wants to get something, and refusing to listen when they say "stop".

How old is your son? Unless he's preschool age or younger, I don't think they would let you be there, unless there are special circumstances.

If he's only 2 or 3 he might.

My 7 year old loves to see us at school, as long as we're not going to take him home early. :)

That's great that he enjoys school so much. He, and you, are really lucky.

Try contacting after-school programs in your area. Additionally, there might be some local organization for people with disabilities that could give you some help.
