Hi, Ever since I got to know more about myself and the spectrum, I could easily spot a fellow Aspie! Are you aware of the Aspergians in your area?

Yup. I can think of several people I know that really fit the bill. It's good, in that I understand certain people better now. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt now that I know why they may be the way they are.

I assume people are not on the spectrum unless they state that they are. Can't think of any people I know who I've suspected of having AS or any form of Autism - there are just those who know they have it and have told me.

I have done once, yes. Despite that, I couldn't see it in myself for years.

A friend supposedly has AS. I've known him for 4 years and really can't see it. :?

Sometimes, but not often.

A classmate once came up to me and told me he was an Aspie after I gave a speech in class about Asperger's. He's the only other Aspie I've met in real life. I never would have guessed he had it. So either I cannot pick out Aspies, or I've never met another one besides that guy and myself.

No. I'm sure I've met some, but I can't recognise them. There are some people I suspect, but I don't know how to make sure.

I think so. I seem to recognize traits. It's not the same as diagnosis of course. But I think AS, or AS like traits that make someone not totally NT, is easy to recognize.

I often recognize some of the more obvious AS traits in others. It doesn't mean they have AS, they could be just a bit different from the norm.

I've never knowingly met another aspie in person, but since I've gotten to know what the more obvious outward traits are, I've been able to spot them in other people.

There is one kid at the gym who I think has it, but otherwise not really.

I pointed out this guy in my Biology class that I thought seemed like an Aspie. Then I asked him what classes he had, and he mentioned that he had an IEP due to an Asperger's diagnosis. So, yes. I only knew two other Aspies in real life, one I met in the 5th grade, and one I met last year who tried to ask me out.

I have been correct on a suspicion that someone that I know is an Aspie. I am not certain if I recognize every Aspie that I see; however, I have studied the traits, symptoms, and stereotypes to make a reasonable hypothesis on a person.

I can usually spot aspies. Well, if I'm paying attention long enough, I can.
