I just want to flomp and scream somewhere safe.

Repeating stuff, Just a word of a short phrase. or even a little song, my brain pics up on a new one or two (or five...) every month or so, and I repeat it over and over and over. The latest is "florrie matina, she is a nina" sung to the tune of my little pony (florrie is my cat :/) and the phrase "coaxed in to a snafu" (some random thing my partner said the other day) and I CANNOT STOP STAYING THEM. my partner has asked if I could just not say them so much and Im sitting here like trying to hold in a sneeze, often I dont know Im saying them till Im on the last word when im feeling relaxed. Help? make it stop? :'(

Could they be vocal tics? Just curious? I can stop echolalia if once I catch myself doing them.

I love echolalia as I find it very funny when I am out in public, and I get stuck on catchy song lyrics. My husband gets sick of it after like a day but it's the quickest thing to lift my mood :D the only thing that gets me to stop, is to really think about how annoying it is for him, but I find it very comforting and soothing. It totally makes me crack up too ! !

I only become echolaliac when I'm super comfortable and it's accepted. This is around my daughter who is 8. My mouth becomes sort of a very bizarre flow of nonsense but for me and her it's very stimulating. I can't act like this around adults because it's too strange... singing repeated word, songs, phrases, etc. When I was a child I remember using catch phrases. I'd use one and then after a month or so I'd find a different one. Also lately saying et cetera is sort of a catch phrases or echolalia. I catch myself meowing at cats etc lol.
