I've been scared of going outside for a while now, feeling "exposed" and all out of whack. So my psychologist said we need to work on my proprioceptive sense and recommended a weighted vest. I ordered one from Amazon, just the kind that body builders use. It's 20 pounds, which is heavier than my son's weighted blanket that I keep stealing from him. This vest is an amazing feeling. I never want to take it off! Related experiences? Otherwise, I highly recommend it!

I always loved the weighted vest at the Dentists office and wish I could wear it the whole time.

I have found that compression t-shirts work well also.

Me too. I have to wear compression undershirts. The feeling of of a free hanging shirt makes me feel nearly naked. I don't ever wear shorts either. Something about them feels so... I feel vulnerable to... Something nebulous and hard to define.

I have a weighted vest that I bring with me pretty much everywhere. It's only about five pounds, but it helps me cope much better with so many things. Mine just looks like a regular jean vest, but with metal disks attached to the inside. So people see the weights when it's on, though it often confuses the heck out of TSA officers when it goes through the x-Ray machine.

I want to try compression garments sometime. I think I'd like the feeling of more uniform pressure across my body.

I always thought I was a total weirdo in that I the only person I know who would WANT to wear a Kevlar vest or something similar on the job like police or security do. Obviously I don't but I prefer heavy clothes and blankets even in the summer.

Me too! It's especially funny when the Hygienist apologizes for the weight of it. I L-O-V-E the feeling!
