Thank you for this very comprehensive list of strengths/needs profiles for LLD and NLD. A lot of my weaknesses seem consistent with NLD. I am very strong verbally and weak with directional sense and pattern recognition.

Same here. Although not dxed with a learning difficulty(fairly intelligent children tended not to be seen as having learning difficulties in the 60s and 70s) there are definite signs of NLD, dysgraphia , dyspraxia, executive functioning difficulties and directional dyslexia.

I have difficulty learning languages other than English.

I was able to comprehend what people were saying to me, but didn't talk until age 5 1/2.

I do fairly well in English language-based studies.

I very much fit the profile of "Nonverbal Learning Disability."

The inadequacies/lack of intelligence inherent within the psych system of course failed to pick up on this. The result- substandard treatment.

I fit with LLD better. I had known this for sometime.

I could think and learn in terms of various mixes (visual/auditory/tactile/olfactory/abstract/pattern/etc..) of nonverbal styles except verbal. Almost never verbal, pure verbal. Verbal is mostly a medium to me than a tool or guide. At best, it's purely concrete memorization without meaning.
Therefore I always have to translate verbal to non verbal, or translate things to verbal which I kept doing it badly. :|
