Have you found that autistic traits have affected your career progression? I have suffered discrimination at work. A colleague 14 years younger and less experienced in the job than me is being offered overtime and I'm not. When I confronted my boss I was told it's because she's more mature than me. I can react quickly when upset and frustrated, but this hasn't affected working relationships and I thought I was well respected at work. It certainly doesn't affect my output or ability to be brilliant at what I do.

How do others manage emotions at work? I'm very clever and competent and do not wish to be held back at work. They are aware of my autism diagnosis (high functioning classical autism). I have called for an informal chat with my director to raise the discrimination.

AT least you HAVE a job. :D Though I get what you're saying. :)

I hate it when I think people respect me and then I find out they don't, that they think I'm immature, hysterical, etc.
