To sum up the last 10 years...

I've done the RAADS and AQ screenings under guidance of a social worker and got AS range results.

I've had several clinicians evaluating me for depression ask if I'm already diagnosed with Asperger's. Last time I was inpatient in a psych ward the nurses were calling me "That Aspergers lady" behind my back.

I have severe meltdowns not satisfactory explained by the psych workers.

I'm told my depression stems from problems with socially interacting with those around me.

My childhood psych reports read of a child with severe meltdowns and "no social skills"

Then why is nobody interested in diagnosing me???

This is just a thought but diagnosis is usually costly and they may feel you can't afford one so they don't suggest doing one. I may not be right but Dr's etc do seem to like money.

Be careful about getting diagnosed unless you have ALL the traits... some people will think you have certain traits you don't of AS just because you have AS... and even if you do have all the traits, people might assume you don't REALLY have depression, you just have Asperger's. Been there, done that, been extremely angry an anxious and depressed because of it. :)
