Anyone have trouble with this? I frequently find myself saying things like, "you know the round thing that you steer the car with" because I can't remember that it's called the steering wheel.

Never mind. There's already a few threads on this. I need to get in the habit of using the search function first.

I love it! Very humorous!

I hate when I have those kinds of brain freezes! I drew a blank on someone's name, a person I saw regularly. That kind of thing scares me. I remembered it later, though.

After my last breakdown I had selective mutism for a period but when I found my voice I did struggle with a few words and still randomly get it , it used to provoke anxiety in me but now I can laugh it off.
My GF does it a bit and uses "thingy" or "thingymebob" as a replacement. Sometimes I amaze myself as she can say something like "Do you know the thingy with the thingy?" and I'll know exactly what shes on about - we have been together a long time though.

I had a teacher that did that once. I would always say the word he was stuck on if he couldn't remember.

I've been working at the same place for the last year-and-a-half and two months ago I forgot my boss's name for a week :-(

I once forgot what ponies were so I resorted to calling it a "little horsey thing".

I frequently forget how to say things and have to resort to pointing and very unhelpful descriptions.
