People have often told me that I'm really good with kids, and I actually find that it's easier to get along with them than with grown-ups.

I think it's probably because the expectation of what you're supposed to do with kids fits so much easier into an Aspie profile than getting along with grown-ups. When you're with kids, they don't want to talk about their day or make small-talk; they want to play games. Playing games is easy, making small-talk is hard.

I'm probably faking it just as much with kids as with grown-ups, but the kind of faking it that's required is so much easier to do.

I think I'm the opposite.

I'm absolutely terrible with children and I can't understand them at all. I have an even harder time following what they say than adults because they say things erratically and at random and half the time it doesn't string together. I don't even really know how to play with kids because there's too much improvising and I tend to be extremely awkward. I get even worse with younger kids who are less verbal because I can't figure out what they want or why they're crying or how I'm supposed to react when they're angry or upset. I find it all totally overwhelming.

I get on much better with older adults over 60. I find the pace of the conversation to be more manageable and the topics discussed are often more stimulating and thought-provoking as opposed to gossip and small talk.

I interact pretty well with everyone, but I prefer the company of adults.

Even though I'm a kid, I find it easier to get along with kids younger than me, as well as grown ups.

This was always the case with me growing up.

I used to like to hang out with the old ladies in the park---when I was about 10.

I thought most of the kids I played with were brats.

It's probably a step above Cabbage Patch Kids! :D (That's "who" I played with when I was 10  )

Cabbage Patch Kids didn't come out until I was already in my 20's.

I never saw the appeal of them, to tell you the truth.

But you liked them....so that's all that counts.

Yeah, I really did like them. I played with one so much it's arm almost fell off and it's leg got deformed. Whoops..... :)

You should took him/her to the Doll Hospital (yes, they do exist).

Is there one for Cabbage Patch Kids? I know there's one for American Girl Dolls. It's so weird how they have hospitals for dolls :D .

I always got along better with grown-ups, but usually around 35 and above.

Doll hospitals take care of all sorts of dolls.

Cabbage Patch Kids were a real phenomenon in the 1980s. People used to stand on line and wait all night before the store opened. They used to fight over them.
