Why do Aspies stay looking young?

Because frown lines are actually caused by smiling and sneering at others. Frowning doesn't actually wrinkle the face at all.

I don't know when I was about 14 people thought I was about 17 in looks it will proberbly change as I get older

I think it's because we're young at heart!

People usually think I'm younger than 18 though.
I guess it will be a good thing when I'm 40 though...?

Everybody always tells me I look 15 or 16 when in fact I am 20 and I am always getting asked am I looking foward to starting school or what kind of extracurular activities I am in.

My mom used to tell me I needed to smile more and that it took more musles to frown than it did to smile. It actualy hurt my face to smile and I didn't frown I just had a netural blank expression all the time. I don't think I ever smiled very much if at all as a kid.

The car licence of my little Daytona red '92 Chrysler Le Baron convertible is YTY XXX and caused a hairdresser who 'knew' me to remark "that's it! that's what it is with you! You're Too Youthful for your age!" She was a bit embarrassed because she must have realized that I had not yet figured out there was indeed "something about me."

I used to think looking (and acting) youthful it was because I never raised any children, I also thought it was because I hadn't taken on a lot of responsibility in my life compared to others around me. I had not until recently known anyone like me, but I identify more and more every day.

I've used a fake ID that says I'm 35 when I'm 19.

I'm 18, but people usually think I look 19 or 20.

On average i get estimated around 4-5 years younger thse days.
When i was 15-20 this was horrible to me.
Here in the Netherlands where you need to be 16 to buy a beer it has never been too bad.
I just get annoyed because everyone assumes i'm much younger than i am.
However abroad in other European countrys where you need to be 18 to buy a beer.
I constantly got asked for my ID in the past few years whilst going on vacation.

Imagine me going to America and trying to be a beer there
I'l be 23 in a month, but noone is gonna take my word that i'm over 21.
These days though in my own country getting estimated at 18 isn't too bad.

The main thing i miss about looking older is that i don't get the build of my family.
Everyone is way more muscled and broader shoulders than average.
But me on the other hand, i'm thinner than average.
Not 100% sure if this has too do with my younger body, but i assume it does.

People seem to think I'm about 18-19 when in actual fact I'm on the later side of 24. Funny really, I think we tend to look younger because we don't tend to falsely smile or put on fake emotions like others do, and so hence our faces get a bit more of a rest than those falsies out there.

Look at Craig. When I showed him to my mom a while ago she thought he was 16 when he was 27.
I also get mistaken for a 12 year-old.

Yep! I'll be 40 next year but I look 25 max.

I actually look older than I actually am.

Most of the lines, though, are from frowning and crying too much (I was in an awful state one year ago).

This is a good question. I get the same thing too. People always think I'm in my 20's when I'm 31. When I was in my 20's people always thought I was in my teen's. Even as a kid once in a while people use to think I looked younger than I really was.

I really don't know why this is the case.
