The move of location is almost upon me. Agreement to be signed and then everything will be set up in the flat before my stepdaughter helps me to move in. I am as nervous as can be and wonder if others here get anxious over change even though logic dictates the change will be a positive step. My stepdaughter has taken complete control of sorting everything and I have been told I will not lack for support when I move.
Given the state of affairs nationally with mental health services/social care one really needs to know family are near for support. Especially if like me your ability to live independently is limited. As my brother has said, it wouldn't have been good living on the 11th floor as I get older.

You're lucky LOL

I don't have any kids to take care of me when I get old.

I think you will be okay.

I understand change is hard. Even kitty cats take a week to get used to their surroundings.

I wish you luck in your move.

Thanks Kraftiekortie. As you can probably guess I'm the world's biggest coward/pathetic wimp. I am lucky in that I have a very caring stepdaughter and grandchildren .

If I were in your position, I would make sure I eat my favorite foods for dinner.

Talking about food. It shows how irrationally anxious and dependent on the internet I am . Am guessing when I move I won't be able to take any food in my fridge and freezer-which will be left behind . Keep thinking what if I'm not online and can't do a supermarket shop.

The fridge and freezer are part of your old apartment?

Do you have a fridge and freezer in your new place?

I am sure the intention is to leave the fridge/freezer and freezer here and get ones for the new place.

Depending on how far you're moving, you might be able to keep your food. Maybe put the refrigerated stuff in the freezer? Then transport it frozen? That might preserve the food.

Maybe you can get one of those "hot-cold" bags? Maybe try Sainsbury's or one of those type of places.

That would keep the food at the proper temperature.
