I was thinking about my diagnosis assesment earlier as I went past the place it today and thought is the diagnosis actually acurate because the phychologist was asking me questions such as

What's the difference between a boat and a door I answered it but it didn't make sense

There were other questions as well and he timed me at doing this puzzle I know AS people suppose to have a picture memory but what I was doing was looking at the pattern and copying it at the same time. And this other thing where I had to put these cards together to copy a pattern which really did frustrate me it was annoying, Then decided on a chat how is that accurate I don't think I was showing any signs and if it was true I was trying my best to be as NT as possible dueing that diagnosis

You could say not many

Both are made of wood.
A boat can take you to a new place. Going through a door can take you to new places.
Both float.
Both need physical intervention to work correctly.
A boat can have a door... A door can become a boat.

But of course, thats just silly thinking right?

A boat is just a whole bunch of doors fastened together!

lol, my response would have been similar to "ummm.... yeah"

My son's answer was "you can't ride in a door on the water" lol-he also thought I was completely joking asking a question like that, and that was his punchline to it-he laughed for 10 minutes.

People with AS/ASD do not have to think in images. Some don't at all, others remember thinking in concepts and images prior to having language, and now can use either. Others are apparently all pictures.

I can't believe that question! Can you remember any other questions? What the heck is the point of that question?

I'm sure I would have said "uhh...what do you mean?"

I imagine I would have described the physical differences between a door and a boat. That's a really bizarre question though. I wonder what he was testing for. I really wonder why he would ask that.

A boat can also be made of fiberglass and a door can be made of metal.

What a stupid question.

I can't remember any other questions but they all like that. Two weeks later when I got the result I did ask him why those questions. Then he said you have AS but you can pass for NT

A door stands vertically while a boat lies horizontally?

If they pressed, I would have just said something like one is to block entrances, one you use to ride on water.

I'm totally confused by that question though.
