47.0 not sure I marked the right answer for every one I have trouble matching the line of the question to the corresponding bubbles but I got the vast majority and fixed a handful of mistakes so make of it what you will.

51 for me. Afterwards I tried to find the scoring rationale and scales for typical ASD and NT, but was not pleased with what I was able to find. It seems that the aspietests version is not scored the same as the original test.

I just started taking the questionnaire, and I think it's complete garbage! The questions do not translate to sensory issues whatsoever, in my opinion. I have quite severe sensory issues, and virtually none of them are being tested by this questionnaire. Furthermore, most of the questions are very odd situations- adding five grains of salt to water? What in the world?! I think Baron-Cohen better get back to the drawing board on this one. Questionnaires I've taken for SPD are much more appropriate.

I noticed there wasn't much difference in average scores between those who have asd/suspect they have asd and those that don't.

Glad I wasn't the only one who felt this way. Most of it wasn't really relevant to Autism. I'm guessing these surveys are not made by professionals. Just random folks on the internet.

Yes, the scoring sheet seems quite bizarre. According to the original paper by Baron-Cohen et al., the SPQ test is scored so that the higher a person's sensory sensitivity, the lower their SPQ score will be. I went through the scoring key to check that, and according to my count 39 of the questions were scored consistently with that scheme, 41 were scored the wrong way around, and there were 12 where I wasn't sure which way they should be scored. In other words, the scoring key seems to make absolutely no sense at all; it is as if it had been drawn up randomly. Not surprisingly, perhaps, people's scores are all coming out at around 50 plus or minus a few.

In its current state, this test is more of a fun quiz than anything that’s definitively accurate, but in their defense it’s a fairly new test and it’s probably still in the process of having the kinks worked out of it, it also probably needs a complete replacement of all of the questions.

That, at least, is reasonable! That means that they have avoided "response bias." The questions have presumably been designed so that in half of them the high-sensory-sensitivity response corresponds to "agree," and in the other half the high-sensory-sensitivity response corresponds to "disagree."

But the scoring scheme is, according to their paper, supposed to be such that the high-sensory-sensitivity response gets a 0 score, while the low-sensory-sensitivity response gets a 1 score. But in that case their scoring key is badly wrong, and it assigns a 0 to only about half of the high-sensitivity responses, while wrongly assigning a 1 to the other half of the high-sensitivity responses.

Their paper was published in 2014. The paper itself doesn't give the scoring key, and it is not clear when that was put on the ARC website.

Yeah, it doesn't make much sense to me, either. The scoring seems random, alternatively giving and not giving a point for questions asking about the same sensory thing.
I got 41, and have major sensory issues.
