Is it normal that having ASD may come of as seeing delusional?

I sometimes feel deluded into my restricted interests and this is how it truly feels like having Autism. "Me, Me, Me, Me" and it goes on. It feels like I have NPD, even though it's Autism in reality.

Although a lot of people say that Autism is not a psychotic disorder, to me it feels like having a delusional disorder, even though it is a developmental disorder.

ASD kind of feels like having transient psychosis that has lasted for nineteen years.

I am 20 years old.

I had a delusion in Random Discussion this morning and it wasn't pretty.

What exactly do you mean by "delusion/deluded" though? It might be just semantics.

Sorry if I read it wrong, but what you're describing sound like narcissism... Do you mean delusions of grandeur?

Yes, I also meant delusions of grandeur.

I also talked about the psychotic episode that I also had for one month, when I was fifteen years old.

Are you being screened for autism right now? Have you been screened for other conditions like schizotypal or bipolar disorder or OCD? All of those can include "delusions of grandeur" and other similar issues (assuming that that's really what you have suffered from -- I still think it could be just a matter of semantics).

Whatever your actual condition may or may not be, I really don't think it could be clinical narcissism. Clinically-narcissistic people specifically don't worry that they're too self-centered and self-serving, they just are.

Six mental and developmental disorders that I know I am diagnosed with:

* Unspecified Intellectual Disability ( I think that I am misdiagnosed as having Intellectual Disability when in reality I just have severe Learning Disorder that hinders what my true intelligence is )
* Autism
* ADHD
* Sensory disorder ( I don't know the specific name of my sensory disorder )
* Conduct Disorder
* Bipolar Disorder ( with and without psychotic features )

I have other mental and developmental disorders, but I only know only four that I am diagnosed with.

Other mental and developmental disorders that I think I might have:

* Milder form of multiple personality issues
* Anxiety
* Paranoid personality
* Schizotypal personality
* Pedophillic Disorder
* Milder form of PTSD
* OCD
* Unspecified personality disorders

I have history of taking:

*Guanfacine
*Rexulti
*Olanzapine

I used to take:

*Lorazepam

Well, if you have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder already, then that's it.

Autism itself doesn't correlate with delusions as far as I'm aware. But you can have both autism and bipolar disorder at the same time.

Thank you, I understood!

I am also worried for having mental disorders that are not diagnosed, but the main focus now is Bipolar Disorder.

I am taking the right medications and I am feeling much better.

There is a subforum here that deals with co-morbid conditions (other diagnoses that can coincide with autism but are not autism). https://wrongplanet.net/forums/viewforum.php?f=35

Autism Spectrum Disorder covers specific symptoms / traits. Delusions are not part of the disorder.

Mental health disorders that cause delusions may be co-morbidly present.

In the case that a mental health disorder is present, your doctor / psychiatrist can prescribe you medication to help reduce these symptoms.

Hope that helps clarify things.

Make sure you take your prescribed medications, and make sure you tell your doctor if you think they're not working or if you think they're not enough to keep things under control. I saw your other threads, it sounds like you're struggling with obsessive thoughts and feelings of guilt. It might be treatable with medication, or maybe with therapy instead, or both, but either way, talk to your doctor/therapist about it.
