Does anyone else rub their hangnails and other pieces of skin along fabrics to. It feels so good when the fabric catches them, but it can lead to bloody fingers...

I bite/cut my fingernails so short that hangnails are pretty much impossible, so this is probably not applicable because I generally don't have hangnails to rub.

But I suspect I probably would if I had them, because I'm constantly scratching my hands and objects with what little fingernails I have...

why would cutting your fingernails prevent hangnails? I pick at hangnails constantly, plus creating them. The sides of my fingers are rough which works also.

It's a good question. I guess if I bite them short enough that it's basically impossible to take any more off, then there's nothing for them to create a hangnail from?

In any case, I can't recall having had a hangnail on my fingernails in a very long time. Toenails I get them occasionally and they bug me a lot when I get them, but I'm not exactly constantly scratching things with my toenails, so less of a potential issue there.

I make most of my hangnails, just from picking at the sides of my fingers.

Rubbing them so that they catch on fabrics is so pleasurable. It's the best experience I know by far.

They annoy me. I cut them off as soon as I can, even really small ones.

I always remove any hangnails or other bits of skin, like torn skin around a wound, as soon as I can, to try to avoid having it tear far enough to hurt or do further damage.
