So I did two anxiety quizzes, both hosted on the same site:

Test #1
https://psychcentral.com/quizzes/anxiety.htm
38 & up - Severe anxiety
23-37 - Moderate anxiety
6-22 - Mild to little anxiety
0-5 - No anxiety

I scored 19 (Mild to little anxiety).

Test #2
https://psychcentral.com/quizzes/anxiety_test.htm
15 & up - Severe anxiety
10-14 - Moderate anxiety
6-9 - Mild anxiety
0-5 - No anxiety

I scored 18 (Severe anxiety).

Pretty inconsistent results. My ASD diagnosis actually explicitly states that I have a high level of anxiety, so I'm pretty sure that the second one is more correct than the first, although "Severe" does seem like a strong word.

Do other people get similar inconsistency between the two tests?

I don't really bother with online tests because the answers are mostly in black and white and also each quiz scores differently and also because the tests are based on stereotypes like that OCD quiz for example. Also how I score depends on how I interpret them.

I think there is a place for them, a starting place. For those of us lucky enough to have a formal diagnosis they are a bit of fun, for others they represent hope.

Yes, they are inconsistent, but then they were never meant to be diagnostic. Only this evening I took a test which said I was OCD. Of course, I am not, well no more than yer average aspie. Let's face it we are all a little obsessive about one thing or another.

I struggle with anxiety too. Scored 41 on the first (severe) and 17 on the second (severe).

I noticed that the second one, first of all, had more questions. Which means that if you do have some of the symptoms it presents, but not most of them, you won't end up with a high score. Second of all, these symptoms were much more specific and physical. So if you don't experience these specific symptoms of anxiety, that's probably why you got a low score on that one.

They may be inconsistent because they measure different aspects of anxiety. I scored 34 on the first and 21 on the second.

I just looked at the two quizzes, and it stands to reason why you'll get totally inconsistent results. One of them measures general ainxiety. The other is clearly geared towards panic disorder. You can have one with out the other.
