When my dad got in to me for eating unhealthy I responded by saying I am anorexic you should be happy. I have been diagnosed with anorexia twice. Is that a bad joke or even a joke?

It is a kind of joke. I don't see anything wrong with it. You were saying, "At least I am eating!"

That's how I took it... But then again, I am use to "dark" humor. If he gets upset, he is only concerned for your health. So maybe keep that in mind, when making jokes about your health around your dad.
